I have some strong opinions regarding a variety of issues and will make a few comments on these pages when I see something that moves me... You may agree or disagree - I don't mind. I just think this will be an interesting look at history for me as I get older.

2008-09-11: Gibson Interviews Pailn

I watched the Gibson interview tonight and it just made me sick. Other than watching our local ABC station for the local news I do not watch ABC, CBS or NBC any more. If Gibson had asked the same questions of Obama I would not mind so much but, to see him sitting there and asking a former mayor and governor of a state if she has the experience to be president – when he never asked our community organizer, (who apparently helped people register to vote and find jobs – but it’s still all very nebulous), the same thing illustrates his, and ABC’s, bias and why I no longer watch him nor that station. Why hasn't he ever asked Obama:

a) Please describe, in detail, precisely what experience you gained in so-called “community service” that gives you the credentials to be president?

b) Was the radical, Saul Alinsky, a “community organizer” in Chicago in the 60's, perhaps one of the people you admired and studied? If not, how come lines in some of your and your wife’s speeches seem to be lifted from his his book “Rules for Radicals?”

c) Please explain the repeated attacks made on your lack of experience by your competitors in the race for the democratic nomination, (and even by people like Jimmy Carter). Were they all lying about you and, if so, why did you then choose a liar as a running mate?

d) Do you think that voting “present” about 130 times or so distinguishes you as a leader and as one who has the courage to stand up against the crowd and do what you believe to be right?

e) You referred to your grandmother as “…a typical white person…” What would you say if I, based upon what I read in your book, referred to your polygamist father as “a typical, black, African man?”

f) How come you stated that you will meet with world tyrants without preconditions (until you flip-flopped slightly) yet you attack Shaun Hannity publically and don’t even have the guts to appear on his show and stand up for yourself? As a follow-up to that, if you can’t take on Hannity, how can you possibly expect us to believe that you, as president, could stand up to Ahmadinejad?

g) Where have you ever stood up against your own party to do what is right?

I would love to have asked Gibson, say a year ago, out of the blue, to explain to me the so-called “Bush Doctrine” and see if he even knew what it was. The media in general just makes me absolutely sick. It is patently obvious for all to see how the majority of them are all in the tank with Obama, like Chris Matthews, getting tingling feelings up their legs when he speaks.

What is so unbelievable is how the media is now trying to tie the “community organizer” argument to race. Just tonight I heard repeatedly words to the effect of “… many black people entering politics begin as community organizers and work their way up from there. Are you criticizing black people?” This is an astounding red herring. Because they can’t defend the issue they try to throw in something else to hide it. As I have said before, the media makes me sick.

USA Flag

September 11th Remembered

On 09/11/2001 the USA suffered what, so far, appears to be the worst terrorist attacks suffered by any nation on the planet. The attacks were perpetrated by Islamic extremists. 2,750 people were killed and about 1,300 orphans created. I am amazed at how the biased media seems to have forgotten about that day and what we are fighting for. The media attacks our government for trying to protect us, the courts give suspected terrorist combatants the same rights to representation as US citizens – yet, God forbid that we have another attack, those same two-faced people would be screaming that the government hasn’t done enough, be blaming the president and going on witch-hunts.

2008-09-10: Biden says Hillary is more qualified than he...

I was driving home from work today and heard a recording of the comments Biden made in Nashua, New Hampshire today when he responded to comments from a man in the audience. He stated that Hillary was "... qualified to be president of the United States of America , she's easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America and quite frankly it might have been a better pick then me..." (Google these on-line, plus they were shown on national TV tonight).

And, I'm wondering... Are we going to hear the news in the recent future that, due to health, or personal, or whatever reasons, Biden is unable to continue to run for VP and Hillary is asked to run? It certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Look at Biden's record, a liar & a looser who ran for the DNC nomination a number of times and lost. Get on Google and look for "Biden liar plagiarized" and see what you find. Could some of his inglorious past now "surface" and cause him to withdraw opening the door for a substitute? Hmmm.

2008-09-10: Matt Damon

I saw this tonight, poor little Matt is on expressing all sorts of concerns over Sarah Palin. He said he really wants to know if she believes that dinosaurs were on earth 4,000 years ago and stated that this is very important to him.... Oh really, that is absolutely vital to our well being and far more important than our dependence on foreign oil. So, Matt Damon is suddenly a great intellect worth of being on national TV expressing his concerns about Palin. Well, who cares what Matt Damon thinks?

I certainly don’t.

2008-09-04: Palin & other speeches last night

Since I watched the major speeches at the DNC, Obama, Clinton & Biden, I of course watched the Republican presentations as well. As you know, I have never been impressed by John McCain but I think he & his advisors made a good decision in selecting Sarah Palin. My first impression is that she appears to have some of the qualities I have always hoped for in a politician. That is, she seems to be an authentic, conservative person who will stand against the crowd and do what she believes to be right for our country. What amazed me was how well she delivered her speech. She had confidence, poise and power before an audience of over 37 million. The masses rave about the eloquence of Obama but, in my opinion, she blew him and his comrades out of the water. She is a Washington outsider, not a career politician, a real breath of fresh air that will hopefully be able to begin and push for reform in Washington. Regardless of the media and democratic propaganda, she actually has real executive experience – far more so than Obama. She is a real mother in a real family with real problems – just like millions of other families in the county with whom I’m sure she struck a chord.

What has been simply amazing – and yet expected – is the incredibly vicious onslaught unleashed against her by the media, especially on TV, in print and on the internet since her selection was announced last Friday. Coupled with this is the utter hypocrisy of the liberal feminists. They seem to be of the opinion that a liberated woman may only be a left wing radical like them and may never be a traditional conservative. I hope Sarah takes them to the cleaners. These feminists can’t seem to figure out that millions of Americans think like Sarah Palin and support the values she enunciated. What about the great Nancy Pelosi? I don’t hear a string of objections from the same two-faced women about family and motherhood in regard to her position. These liberal feminists attacking Palin are hypocritical liars.

By the way, while waiting to watch Sarah's speech I watched Guiliani and I thought he gave a great speech too.

I’m really interested to see what happens over the next two months.

2008-08-22: Obama compares us to Russia & Extols the Chinese Example

I listened to two of Obama’s speeches today as I spent over five hours in my car driving. In one he spoke about Russia and in the other, China. As I have said before – he is vacuous as we shall see.

The Russian Comparison

As you all know, the great Russia attacked and invaded the small, western-leaning country of Gerogia recently and Obama chastised them for doing this in his speech. He said “…We’ve got to send a clear message to Russia and unify our allies…” that “…They can’t charge into other countries. Of course it helps if we are leading by example on that point…” He seems to be missing some rather vital points here when he clearly compares the Russian action to us being in Iraq & I can’t help but wonder if he has been asleep for a few years or is again merely showing how out of touch he is with reality and how poor his judgment is.

Russia is run by an ex-KGB thug with clear aspirations of rebuilding his collapsed “evil empire” (courtesy of Ronald Reagan). (Junior senator Obama can’t seem to figure this one out). Russia attacked a small independent, western-leaning country, which was formerly a communist region, now interested in joining NATO. It is patently obvious that this was merely a heavy-handed act of intimidation, (i.e. terrorism) by Russia intended as a warning to its former minions.

Saddam Hussein however was a blood-thirsty, savage dictator that:

-       Gained power through brutality and assignation

-       Murdered over 10,000 of his own people with poison gas (i.e. a weapon of mass destruction)

-       Attacked Iran, (resulting in a about two million deaths)

-       Attacked Kuwait and was kicked out by a coalition of 34 nations

-       Attempted to have former president Bush assassinated in 1993

-       Stockpiled uranium and refused to respond to more than a dozen UN resolutions

-       Was warned for months before finally being attacked by another coalition made up of the US, British, French, Australian, and other western governments.

It is insulting to our country, to our armed forces and to the memory of our men and women that have died in the Iraq conflict for Obama to compare our involvement in Iraq with what Russia is doing in Georgia. Again – he is either clueless about what is going on or he is an unpatriotic liar.

The Chinese Example

In part of this speech Obama extolled the achievements of China, stating that they have spent all this money and built such a wonderful infrastructure for the olympics and should be an example to us as to what we could do etc., etc., etc. Is this man unaware of the achievements of the USA?

-       Has he forgotten that China is one of the most repressive and oppressive regimes of the modern era?

-       With an African heritage like me, surely he should know that China has, for years, supported hundreds of terrorist armies throughout Africa resulting in the deaths and maiming of millions of his fellow African brothers and sisters? (Oh but then again, he seems to be completely out of touch with his brother living in Kenya).

-       Does he know nothing of Chinese “re-education” camps?

-       Has he never heard of China’s oppression of religious freedom?

-       Has he read nothing of the chaotic Chinese infrastructure, almost everywhere else in their country, other than a few show-pieces in Beijing?

-       Has he not seen China’s trashing of the environment?

This list could go on and on but why should I bother? This man, who claims to be patriotic, extols Communist China as an example to us. Where in the world has he been?

-       Has he never actually noticed the incredible achievements and development we have in the USA?

-       Has he never noticed how we invent the technology and others follow?

-       Has he never noticed how we are the most generous nation on the face of the planet?

-       Has he never noticed how we give to and go and help any nation suffering a disaster?

-       Has he never noticed how we usually out-give all other nations combined when it comes to such aid?

-       Has he never noticed how we have hundreds of young people, every year, going into third world nations through the Peace Corps to help? Please tell me Obama, both you and your unpatriotic wife who has never been proud of our country, what other nation does anything remotely approaching what we do? Is it perhaps Britain, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Zimbabwe, Russia, China or which one?

-       Has he ever noticed how we have thousands of people, every year, immigrating to the USA and hundreds of thousands around the world aspiring to do so? I don’t see them lining up in droves to move to Russia or China.

Oh, but poor Mrs. Obama is only now, for the first time in her life, proud of being an American. I am an immigrant and US Citizen. I did not take dual citizenship. I am American and American alone and am proud to be so.

The comments made by both Obama’s are, in my opinion, disgusting and unpatriotic and demonstrate, conclusively, their astounding ignorance. How any American, who understands the constitution and what our country has sacrificed and achieved, can support and vote for a radical, left-wing, unpatriotic, ignorant and unqualified man like this is absolutely beyond me.

2008-08-01: The Obama Oil Plan

So, Obama, as I just saw him on TV saying a few minutes ago, thinks we can save more oil if everyone in America just inflated their car tires correctly than we could gain by drilling. What can I say? The man's ignorance is astounding - just the sort of person I want to represent our country. As I have said before - he is hopeless without a teleprompter.

2008-07-10: The Great Jesse Jackson

Yesterday, the great, reverend, man of God, Christian, Baptist minister, Jesse Jackson, when he thought no-one else was listening, said he would like to cut Obama’s nuts off & accused Obama of talking down to black people. What a nice example from this wonderful, Christian man. Oh, but you see, it was just a sound bite, and obviously out of context and not what he really meant. What a bunch of lame excuses offered on the air, over and over, by his pathetic apologists.

No, I don’t think this was just an out-of-context "misspeak." I think it reveals exactly what Jackson is really all about and what goes on in his head. He is a nasty piece of work. He always has been and always will be.

Remember a few months ago when former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro implied that Obama had only gotten as far as he had because he was black? There was outrage from one end of the country to the other. She was attacked by the liberal media in print and on the air and accused of being a racist bigot. The uproar was so tumultuous she resigned from Clinton’s campaign. Can you imagine what would have happened had she been the one to say she wanted to cut Obama’s nuts off? Or if, God forbid, it had been said by a Republican?

Please tell me, where is the massive media uproar and outrage over Jackson's comments & demands for his resignation? The liberal media illustrates its racist, double standards again. It was open season on Ferraro but Jackson is a protected species.

2008-06-30: ABC Reporters Sneaking Into Zimbabwe

On Nightline tonight we had a special undercover report from staff on a secret and dangerous assignment in Zimbabwe. The network mentioned a number of times how theirs were the only US TV reporters in the country. It amazes me how it is only now, when it has become fashionable to attack Mugabe, that we start hearing reports about the tyranny in that country.

Well, if I may be so bold as to ask -- Where were these reporters 20 years ago in the early 80's when Mugabe was trying to stamp out his Matabele opposition and sent his Fifth Brigade trained by the North Koreans to massacre over 30,000 Matabele? Oh, I'm sorry, of course they were not interested back then because, at that time, Mugabe was their man, the one they helped put in power and, you see, he could do no wrong...

He used massive intimidation during the very first "election" that brought him to power. People were forced to buy party cards and gangs of Mugabe's thugs roamed black neighbourhoods at night, banging on doors, forcing people to produce their party card as proof of their support for Mugabe. If they could not produce a card they were beaten up or killed. Much of the population is very superstitious and they were told by the thugs that, if they did not vote for Mugabe, the witch doctors would tell the thugs who would come back and kill them. And the same thing is happening today, 28 years later. If they can't prove they voted for Mugabe - their lives are at stake. The media said precious little about all of this but now, oh boy, everyone is jumping on the Zimbabwe bandwagon. As a former Rhodesian all I can say is we told the world what would happen back in 1976 and our words have been proven to have been true. You didn't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out either. You just had to live in Africa and know its history.

2008-06-26: Mandela finally comments on Zimbabwe

So, it was reported on the BBC today that Mandela finally commented on Zimbabwe and referred to "...the tragic failure of leadership in our neighbouring Zimbabwe..." The former president however did not have the guts to actually mention Mugabe by name, although, in times past, he certainly did not seem to mind howling and denouncing, by name, white African leaders. And, it seems it only took him about twenty years to figure out that Mugabe is a brutal savage, drunk on the blood of his own brothers and sisters. You see, Mandela and Mugabe were big buddies during the so called "liberation struggle." Mugabe was hailed by the world as an educated black leader who would show the world what black Africa could do. Well, Mugabe succeeded in showing the world exactly what us Rhodesians told the world African black majority rule would do. He has confirmed, absolutely and undeniably, why we resisted handing over our country to majority rule and why we left the country when the world forced it upon us.

This week the UN Security Council, for the first time, criticized Zimbabwe and one of the delegates said that if Mugabe takes power after this so-called "election" he would be a dictator. Well, this UN leader and the Security Counicil can't seem to figure out that Mugabe won his first election, 28 years ago, in exactly the same way, i.e. through massive intimidation and brutality.

Oh, pardon me for asking, but why have the Soviet Union and Communist China resisted, until now, any action against Zimbabwe? Well, they were backing the terrorists, (Mugabe, Nkomo, Sithole, Muzowera, etc.). They provided the training and thousands of AK-47's, SKS's, RPK's RPG's landmines and millions of rounds of 7.63x39mm ammunition. They got their man in power and want to keep him there. It is only now that the world seems to have figured out that things there are pretty bad that the Russian and Chinese governments can't keep the filth under the carpet any more.

Have all of these groups been asleep for 28 years or do they just not care when it is black Africans brutalizing other black Africans?

2008-06-03: The Political Scene

I am absolutely sick of the whole political scene in our country. In fact, I have no faith in any politician, regardless of country. I am a conservative and I disagree with socialism, the creation of a welfare state and big, restrictive, government. History has proven, without a doubt, that such systems are failures. The USA has incredible opportunities IF you are prepared to work for them. My story is the perfect example of what this country offers:

I am an immigrant. I came over to the USA in 1987 to study for a second degree and was offered a job in 1991 upon my graduation. At the time I was 34 and all I had was my education, a good work ethic, about $3,000 cash in the bank, two suitcases of clothes, a sleeping bag, and 11, smallish, cardboard boxes of books, college notes, and so on. I had to hire a Dallas attorney to help me with my immigration paperwork and paid her $300 per month for 2 1/2 years. My employer wanted my skills but I had to do all of the visa application work myself . My employer didn't pay one cent for me and my salary was $21,000 per year.

But, where am I now, 17 years later?

* I am part owner of a very successful architectural firm

* I have no debt, my car and house are paid for

* I realized a lifelong dream of learning to fly and obtaining a pilot's license

* I own a small aeroplane - and it's paid for

* I live in a nice small town and have a decent life

In my former country it would have been extremely difficult to realize these things as an architect and I am extremely thankful to be living here. Most of my classmates in my former country also left Africa and are scattered all over the world.

How then does my experience impact my political views?

I have no time for people who have lived in this country their whole lives, never achieving anything, sitting around waiting for a government handout, claiming that successful people owe them and must pay increased taxes to support them. I totally disagree with the Democratic goals of robbing from the successful to pay the losers and the creation of bigger and bigger government coupled to restricting our liberty. We seem to have lost sight of the fact that it is only because of the liberty we have in this country that we have produced greatness.

I worked extremely hard, and still do, for what I have achieved and I lived within my means. If I couldn't afford something I didn't buy it and didn't use a credit card for it. I did not receive any handouts to help me. In fact, when you try to immigrate here legally, as I did, the INS makes it as difficult as possible for one to do so. There was no-one begging to keep me in the country. Perhaps I should have been an uneducated, high-school dropout having entered the country illegally, refusing to learn English, parading in the streets holding my former country's flag and demanding my "rights."

The USA is now my home. I did not sit on the fence and keep dual citizenship. As I wrote above, this country has incredible opportunities IF you are prepared to educate yourself and work for them.

What disappoints me is that in a country of our size we cannot come up with three better presidential prospects than we have now. It is astounding. I have come to the conclusion that most politicians are nothing but capricious, power-hungry, liars, the three candidates we have included.

Hillary's record of lies is so long one doesn't even know where to begin, a recent one being arriving in Bosnia under fire. I was in a war zone in the infantry 32 years ago and I certainly would remember if I had been shot at or under fire. And, the excuse is "I misspoke," a euphemism for "I lied." What is so astounding to me is that supporters blindly accept this excuse and brush it aside. I agree with one commentator who said that what bothers him is how easily the Clinton's lie and how they lie - even when they don't have to.

Had Hillary been shot at on numerous occasions I would have accepted that perhaps she got mixed up. But, she has never been under fire!!! This was an unadulterated, deliberate LIE. Plain and simple.

When Obama first emerged on the scene, delivering speeches filled with lofty goals, hope and so on I was initially impressed and wondered if he could really do what he was saying. I thought that maybe here was someone different. But, as time has progressed, I have concluded, based upon evidence that has surfaced, that there is absolutely nothing noble about him. He is a typical politician, interested in nothing but obtaining the seat of power.

Please tell me how he sat in a racist, hate-filled, black church for 20 years claiming he never knew anything about the vitriolic torrent that spewed out the mouth of his reverend, mentor, uncle and father-like figure. (He was either out of touch with reality or exercising incredibly poor judgment). Oh, but then later, when more facts began to emerge, he said he knew Wright was controversial but had never been there and heard such statements himself. But, then he changed his story again as more became public. Suddenly he had heard Wright’s poison but could not disown him. Were these Clintonian "misspeaks" too?  Now he has disowned Wright – in a move of political expediency, nothing more, nothing less.

The only time Obama appears to be good is when he is speaking using a teleprompter, but, even then, his logic is often flawed. Get him away from a teleprompter and he stammers around about barely able to answer a question coherently. As Jimmy Carter said in 2006 when questioned about Obama running for president, "...I just don't think yet he's got the proven substance or experience to be the president..." (You can see this video on YouTube). But Jimmy has now changed his mind. I wonder why? If anything the Obama “fairytale” (courtesy of Bill Clinton) has gotten a lot worse, not better as more about him has become known about his unusual associations. When this is brought up his supporters yell "That's guilt by association' and I say "No, it's plain common sense." There is a universal principle here, a man is known by his friends... If your friends are all white trash - it is highly probably that you are white trash too. If your firends are former radical terrorists from the sixties, racist preachers and shady characters who seem to have nothing better to do than trashing our country - it is highly probable that you are like them too.

I hire people for my business and if , for example, I'm hiring a draftsperson, I interview a number of them, I look for experience in the type of work I do, then choose the one with the best experience and credentials for what I do - and that's just for a draftsperson!! Yet here, with Obama, we seem quite prepared to put some junior, non-achieving, senator, with no experience to speak of, in charge of our country. Go to YouTube and look at the video where Chris Matthews asked Senator Kirk Watson to name even just ONE legislative accomplishment of Obama. Watson was completely stumped and had nothing to say. People then say "Oh, you could stump me with that question too" but that is irrelevant. Watson is a senator and big time Obama supporter, not just some Joe off the street. How can he be "in the business" supporting such a man and not even be able to list a single Obama legislative accomplishment? Next time when I need a draftsperson I might as well find one who is good looking, young and speaks well, with no experience whatsoever.

Sorry, Obama is nothing more than a typical, lying, inexperienced politician.

I agree with my psychology professor who said "...65% of people do not think and their decisions are based on nothing more than emotion..."

And, as far as John McCain goes, I don't trust him at all. I don't believe for one moment that he is sincere when he speaks and am convinced that he too is merely after power and status. He gives carefully crafted speeches, designed to win votes that, in my opinion, are not from the heart. I watched almost all of the debates of both parties and remember very well how McCain answered a question about Iraq in a serious tone, speaking sternly, then broke into a big cheesy grin at the end of his answer as if proud of himself thinking that he had made a good impression on the masses with his delivery. How could he possibly break into a big grin at the end of such a serious question if he were really speaking from the heart and truly believed what he was saying? He is not a conservative. Yes, he went through hell in Vietnam and I admire him for that but, I have no respect for him as a leader and think he comes across as a doddering idiot . He needs to stand up and speak earnestly from the heart.

Our rights and freedoms, guaranteed by the Constitution, are constantly being eroded by an ever-growing government and we keep rolling over and taking it. Human experience demonstrates conclusively that, most of the time, governments mess up almost everything they try to fix – just look at government health in the UK and Canada – Michael Moore’s one-sided propaganda piece notwithstanding.

I want someone who has the guts to stand up for what the Constitution guarantees - not someone pandering to special interest groups.
